Cubs Overnight – Pioneering, Pizza and Campfire Fun!
Our Thursday Cubs enjoyed a fantastic Den Overnight, packed with pioneering, teamwork, campfire songs and plenty of fun!
The main activity on Saturday afternoon was a pioneering project, where the Cubs worked together to build an hourglass watchtower using pioneering spars. Along the way, they learned some useful scouting skills, including how to tie a clove hitch, shear lashing and square lashing. With teamwork and perseverance, the Cubs successfully completed their watchtower, and everyone was eager to put it to the test by climbing to the top!
1 / 8After all that hard work, it was time to get the campfire going and enjoy some well-deserved pizza for dinner. As darkness fell, the Cubs gathered around the campfire for songs and, of course, some delicious s’mores. The evening continued with a movie before everyone settled down for the night in the Den.
1 / 3The Cubs were up bright and early on Sunday morning, with everyone out of their sleeping bags between 7am and 7:30am and ready for breakfast at 8am.
After breakfast, we held a short debrief to reflect on the overnight and the activities everyone had enjoyed. We also took the opportunity to award some of our Cubs their Beaver CSA awards, recognising their achievements.
1 / 5All in all, it was a brilliant overnight, with plenty of laughs, new skills learned and great memories made. Well done to all the Cubs for their enthusiasm, teamwork and adventurous spirit throughout the weekend!
