Boyne Descent 2026

The annual scouting descent once again took place on the Boyne. This year we entered 12 Ventures and 1 Rover.

Sunday morning saw a brutal downfall that initially threaten to dampen more than just our spirits. By 11:30 the clouds had parted just in time for the start of the race.

The race began at the Boyne Valley activities centre in Trim and finished 9km away at Bective Abbey. Entries were registered at under 15 & 18 but unfortunately there was no top 3 placing a this year.

The Boyne holds one or two little features the paddlers had to deal with, but with the wind to their backs our paddlers made great time and finished within 2 hours.

We are already looking forward to next years event that returns to the Liffey for the first time in 2 years.
