Beaver Scouts Explore Carton House Grounds! 🧭 🥾🦫

29th Sept 2025: Our Monday Beaver Scouts recently embarked on an exciting adventure, honing their navigation skills and exploring the beautiful Carton House estate! It was a fantastic evening filled with discovery, teamwork, and plenty of fresh air.

Our journey began with eager Beavers, maps and compasses in hand, ready to navigate the scenic grounds. We focused on practicing safe hiking techniques, emphasizing the importance of our “buddy system.” Every Beaver was paired up, learning to look out for each other and stick together – a crucial skill for any outdoor explorer!

As we trekked along, our first landmark was the Boat House, nestled by the water. The Beavers enjoyed pointing it out on their maps, proudly marking their progress.

We followed the path of the Rye River. The Beavers were keen to identify features on their maps that matched what they saw around them, getting better at orienting themselves with every step.

Our final destination was the historic Tyrconnell Tower. It was a great feeling of accomplishment for all the Beavers to reach our goal, having successfully navigated their way using their newfound map and compass skills, all while staying safe with their buddies.

Days like these are so important for our Beaver Scouts. They not only learn practical outdoor skills but also develop teamwork, responsibility, and a love for exploring the world around them. Well done to all the Beavers for a fantastic hike!
