An Evening at Loughshinny

On the evening of Monday, May 25th, a combined group of Monday and Wednesday Scouts swapped their usual meeting at the Den for a very special adventure on the north Dublin coast. The Scouts travelled to Loughshinny Pier for an evening packed with exciting water-based activities in what proved to be perfect conditions.

The weather could not have been better, with warm sunshine, a high tide and a sea so calm it looked like glass. Taking full advantage of the beautiful surroundings, the Scouts enjoyed a range of activities including kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, swimming and the ever-popular pier jumping. There was plenty of fun and laughter throughout the evening as everyone embraced the opportunity to get out on the water.

Following the activities, the leaders fired up the grills and prepared hot dogs for both Scouts and Leaders. After an energetic evening on the water, the food was thoroughly enjoyed by all as everyone relaxed.

It was an exceptional evening from start to finish, blessed with outstanding weather, great activities and excellent company. The trip to Loughshinny is sure to live long in the memory of all who participated and serves as another reminder of the fantastic adventures that Scouting can provide.
